Lower Elementary (Grade 1-2)
Quiet Time
During Quiet Time, students participate in Bible study. They read, discuss, and most importantly, memorize stories from the Bible.
Word Building
This class is where students expand their English vocabulary. They will work through PACE content, practice spelling, learn contextual vocabulary, and work on their pronunciation. Teachers use different activities and games to help students familiarize new words and class material.
English
During English, students continue to build their vocabulary and their writing and spelling skills. Beginner classes focus on spelling and pronunciation of basic words in sentences. Higher levels cover reading comprehension skills, grammar, and punctuation.
Math
Students progress from basic counting to arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
Science
During Science classes, students learn about God’s world using different perspectives in physics, biology, and environment. Students learn, discuss, and perform experiments based on PACE textbook content. All instruction takes place in English.
Social Studies
Students read Bible stories together, discovering social etiquette and values from a biblical perspective. All instruction takes places in English with students being asked to form well-thought-out opinions and participate in discussions.
Office Time
Office time is designated as independent work time for students to catch up or move ahead on PACE work.
Korean
Using classic literature, students participate in activities such as reading, discussion, analytical thinking, and written prose in a holistic approach to the Korean language.
Korean Math
Following official Korean examination standards, classes focus on comprehensive problem solving that is regularly evaluated through formal assessments.
Upper Elementary (Grade 3-6)
Math
Topics covered in higher level math include advanced arithmetic skills, solving fractions, and learning about the different properties of numbers.
English
In higher level English classes, students are expected to build on grammar and vocabulary. Course material will cover advanced speaking patterns, writing skills, complex grammar patterns and contextually appropriate syntax. Students will also focus on character training through topics covered in the PACE textbooks.
Word Building
Course material centers around expanding vocabulary. Students learn advanced topics such as latin roots and suffixes, and learn to distinguish complex tenses, speech patterns and accents. Students will also focus on character training through topics covered in the PACE textbooks.
Literature & Creative Writing (LCW)
The LCW course covers advanced comprehension and analyses of various writing styles. Students will learn to distinguish different elements of literature, as well as practice advance writing skills in expository, descriptive, persuasive, and narrative prose.
Science
Course material covers physics, biology, environmental and mechanical sciences
Social Studies
Course material focuses on expanding practical navigation concepts, geography, systems of government, world history, Christian leadership, and biblical stories. Students will also focus on character training through topics covered in the PACE textbooks.
Korean
Using classic literature, students participate in activities such as reading, discussion, analytical thinking, and written prose in a holistic approach to the Korean language.
Korean Math
Following official Korean examination standards, classes focus on comprehensive problem solving that is regularly evaluated through formal assessments.
Korean Social Studies
Using Korean textbooks, students learn about Korea’s history and topics of social norms and behaviors.
Korean Science
Classes cover key topics included in the official Korean science curriculum, including experimentation aimed at strengthening critical and analytical thinking.
